The Truth about Tarot
I have been studying the Tarot for 16 years now and as I result I have learned to read the cards not only "symbolically" but also "intuitively". For many years in addition to utilizing the Tarot for my own personal guidance, I have been called upon to give readings to many friends, family members & colleagues. In fact, this has been ocurring with such frequency lately that I have developed quite the "underground" past-time. Despite the increasing recognition for this skill (a skill anyone can develop with time and practice), I have been reluctant to offer readings professionally. Why is that?
Well...the Tarot has a reputation. Not all good... which is entirely undeserved. I suppose I did not want to fight against people's long-standing beliefs and risk being called some of the names I've heard other intuitives called. I had always been prone to sacrifice my intuitive abilities in order to preserve my business persona thinking that the two were not compatible, but I am learning that this is not the case.
Most of people's perceptions of the Tarot stem from their religious up-bringing or their fears about learning something frightening about their future. What most do not realize is that the Tarot is not something to be feared. The Tarot is Life's Love Story. As far as predicting the future goes...It is my belief that the future is NOT etched in stone and that is what I emphasize when I do readings. The future is only the result of repeated patterns of thought. Change these patterns and change the future! When someone comes for a Tarot reading these patterns are what I strive to bring to their awareness. It is this awareness that can help a person take the necessary steps for healing their lives in the "present moment" thus heading-off the potential of any future "doom & gloom."
Upon coming to the conclusion that a little education could lead to a whole lot of understanding, I have decided to push beyond my professional "comfort zone" and begin offerring Tarot readings (as well as other Oracle readings & Spirit Channelings) to my clients and hopefully some workshops in the near future. I just think it would be a shame for my clients not to benefit from the added insight these readings provide into their life circumstances. Afterall, what is brought into the light can be healed!
